Responsibilities:
Assist in the Design, Develop, Validate, Release and Implement park system components and sub-systems for all Transmission designs (Manual, Automatic, Dual Clutch, etc.)
Provide cross-functional evaluation of alternatives to meet requirements for all global regions
Maintain the subsystem components Bill of Design (BOD), including Lessons Learned updates
Maintain Statement of Requirement (SOR) templates
Maintain DFMEA templates
Maintain Analysis / Development / Validation (ADV) Toolbox for Park System design
Maintain Technical Approved Supplier List (TASL)
Lead PMT for area of product responsibility
Lead component and sub-system design reviews, including Safety review
Lead DFMEA activity for work on current / future park system components and sub-systems
Lead benchmarking activity to ensure designs are technically capable and meet / exceed customer requirements for cost / function / safety
Lead cost and warranty reduction efforts
Approve all designs and drawings for park system components and sub-system
Ensure designs comply with Bill of Material (BOM), Bill of Design (BOD), & Bill of Process (BOP)
Perform root cause analysis on components
Support transmission and component manufacturing sites in working to improve product design, assembly process, and warranty analysis
Work cross functionally with Suppliers, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Assembly, Finance, etc.
Use common PT systems and processes
Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations
Create templates for design of new park system components and sub-systems.
Required:
BS in Mechanical Engineering (or Chemical, Aeronautical or Manufacturing Engineering)
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area
Must be willing and able to effectively create and present information to leadership, internal/external customers, colleagues and plant employees
Must be able to influence those that are not direct reports to ensure completion of projects and achieving goals
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
High level of ability to work in cross functional teams
At least 6 years of experience with transmission engineering analysis/design/validation/testing experience
Preferred
Previous experience as a Design Release Engineer Park System PMT
Masters Degree in Engineering or Management
Design For Six Sigma Black Belt CertificationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
